We have owned our opal mine for over 20 years
We are a small family business that has been involved in the opal industry since 1992 when we moved to Lightning Ridge, Australia, and Hans started mining for opals.
In 2016, Helle and Hans moved to Ebeltoft, Denmark and opened a goldsmith shop specializing in Opals and opal jewelry. Today, it is Denmark's largest selection of Australian opals and opal jewelry.
We are involved in the entire process from excavating opals to cutting, polishing and designing the jewelry.
About mining
Opal mining takes place underground in the rugged Australian outback, approximately 800km northwest of Sydney. Here you can read more about the process and our equipment.

Helle has designed opal jewelry since 2004 and is responsible for the daily management of the physical store in Ebeltoft. She has a keen eye for detail and perfection, which is why she is also the one who completes the opal cutting and polishing.
If you want to have your very own unique opal jewelry designed, she is the right person to contact.
Helle is also responsible for taking the photos and videos of the opal jewelry for the webshop and not least social media.
In her free time, Helle's biggest passion is winter swimming and her garden and greenhouse.
Hans Jensen
Opal miner, Opal cutter
Hans started digging opals in 1992 and is still in charge of digging the opals out in their mine in Lightning Ridge, Australia, together with his son Christian. At home in the shop, he cleans the raw opals and roughly polishes the opals. Otherwise, his most important task is to help Helle in the shop. Hans is also responsible for the daily maintenance of the webshop.
Hans' hobbies are renovating old houses and playing football.
Christian Jensen
Opal miner, Web designer
Christian lives in Brisbane, Australia but was born and raised in Lightning Ridge. He works as a business analyst by day but saves up vacation time so he can go with Hans out mining for opals. He is also responsible for everything technical with our webshop and all other technical challenges.
Christian's big hobbies are fitness, camping, fishing and generally anything with outdoor activities.
